Welcome back to ‘Three Thoughts Thursday’ Within this weekly blog I will share the three thoughts that have been at the front of my mind over the last few days. I hope these three thoughts can be of benefit to you. This week I share some ideas on how we all can manage our time better.
1 Do you have a minute to waste?
If time is your greatest currency do you really use it well or not? When someone asks you for a minute do you give it away for free and then keep on giving it away for another ten or fifteen minutes? If I think about this broadly it feels like I was twenty-one years old yesterday now twenty-two years later that time is gone in a heartbeat. Do you really have a minute to waste?
2 Planning
There are many approaches to planning from time blocking, prioritising to delegation, do you have a particular method that has stood the test of time at work and at home? No matter what system someone uses it will be all in vain if we try to do too much. Do you plan to only do what only you can do? Do you stop yourself from doing something for someone that they can do for themselves? From another point of view when you plan do you think about the future to thrive or only think about today to survive?
3 Managing time
Every day would you say you are more proactive or reactive? Events will always happen around you do you focus on how you control your reaction or can your thoughts be blown around like a balloon in the wind?
To take things forward it may be worth asking yourself:
Do I plan to complete the nice-to-do activities rather than the need-to-do ones?
Do I start a task quickly enough free from procrastination and perfectionism?
Are my communications clear enough to set expectations, and boundaries and provide quality responses?
Thanks for taking the time to read this I hope serves you well in the future.
Have a great day
Mark.
